On the buyer's side you will learn of the benefits of acquiring a business\; the top challenges of buying a business\; and steps to structure a successful acquisition. For business sellers\, you will learn what your business is worth\; how to get top dollar for your business\; and tax implications for the sale of a business.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Speakers\n\n\n\nSteve Dokken\, Manager\, Business Centre\, BDC\n\n\n\nSteve Dokken has been with BDC for over 15 years\, helping to create and develop strong Canadian businesses through financing\, advisory services and capital. Steven has spent nine years with BDC as an Account Manager rising to the positiion of AVP Sales\, financing large projects for mid-sized businesses. In the last six years\, he has been the Business Centre Manager looking after the Downtown Edmonton Core Financing Team by identifying and developing new business opportunities for financing and consulting. \n\n\n\nRobert Heron\, KRP Group\n\n\n\nRobert currently manages many firms larger audit clients and many firms publicly traded clients. He has significant experience with businesses in the manufacturing\, construction and oil and gas services industries. In addition to extensive audit and assurance background\, he offers financial\, business and tax advice that is clear\, concise and important to owner-managed businesses.
