SUMMARY:The ED Room Sip & Share Networking Event
DESCRIPTION:The ED Room is your chance to network with fellow Executive Directors & CEOs and to exchange insight and stories about your experiences in the non-profit sector. The ED Room is built on the belief that regular networking is essential to creating a strong non-profit sector and affecting change in our communities. \n\nEach session sees different leaders taking the stage to lead discussions on a variety of leadership topics\, from managing boards and building team culture to succession planning and managing change.\n\nDon't miss this opportunity to join your peers in a comfortable atmosphere and pick their brains on the issues leaders face in the non-profit sector! \n\nTHE DISCUSSION\n\nThe topic for the first ED Room of 2024 will be succession planning. We will be joined by Heather Boonstra\, former Executive Director of Families First Society of Fort Saskatchewan.\n\nSome of the topics we will explore are:\n\n\n	Whose responsibility is it to create a succession plan?\n	How to ensure your board understands the Executive Director/CEO's roles and responsibilities to support a leadership transition.\n	How can Executive Directors and CEOs support their boards to create strong succession plans?\n\n\nHeather Boonstra\, founder of Boonstra Consulting\, has over 30 years of experience in the non-profit sector\, including 25 years with the Families First Society of Fort Saskatchewan. Heather has a wealth of knowledge and experience in organizational leadership including developing effective teams\, building meaningful and lasting relationships with volunteers\, community partners\, donors and stakeholders. She believes\, "that every person\, family and organization has an important story to tell\; a story that needs to be heard and received with gratitude when the time is right to share it."\n\n \n\nThis event is exclusively for non-profit Executive Directors\, CEOs\, and equivalent positions. We encourage organizations to share this invitation with other Executive Directors/CEOs in your network!\n\nThis event will be photographed and may be used for future social media and publication purposes.
