Most managers know that when employees feel appreciated, they are more likely to be committed to the mission of the organization; more likely to give themselves fully to their work; and less likely to become critical and unengaged. However, many managers make the mistake of thinking that 'one size fits all'. What Dr. Chapman has discovered is that what makes one employee feel appreciated does not make another employee feel the same way. Effective appreciation must be individualized.

This presentation will focus on the 5 fundamental ways of expressing appreciation and how to discover each employee's primary 'language of appreciation'. Showing appreciation is especially critical after employees return to the office post pandemic to ensure they feel connected and valued.
